My Story

My name is Ellie, and I live in the central North Island town of Taihape, otherwise famous for being the gumboot capital of NZ. I live with my partner, Clint, who supports my Scentsy venture. He is a tradie, I work as a dental receptionist part time, and also do admin, retail, and freelance bookkeeping for a few locals. I'm also involved with our local musicians group, drama group, and volunteer fire brigade, but have recently stepped back to just being brigade support, so I no longer get on the truck to callouts.

I joined Scentsy last June, and my sister Ruth Whyte is my sponsor. I had never heard of Scentsy before Ruth introduced me to it... I visited her on the West Coast about this time last year, and she loaded me up with samples and a warmer, and I bought some other things from her as well. Returned home and next thing I bought was a car kit. Then the Tuesday Deals was the hook for me, I made an order every week! I loved the fact too that I was helping my sister with her small business.

One of the deliveries of those orders became the catalyst for me joining Scentsy. Being in a small town, the local courier knows us personally, and if we know we have a delivery coming, we can flick him a text to let him know where to drop it off that day. This particular order arrived on a Saturday, and I actually hadn't checked when it was coming. I was standing outside a friend's place when he drove past, stopped in the middle of the road, reversed, and called out to me, "I have a delivery for you today! Longer story short, I opened my delivery at me friend's house, and ended up GOING HOME WITHOUT SOME OF MY ORDER! That's when I realised this stuff sells itself.

I was so tempted then to start selling, but my main concern was if I did so, that would affect my sister's sales. Little did I realise then that her becoming my sponsor and joining her team was better than me remaining as just her customer!

I had a great start as that first customer remains my best customer, and her network and mine meant a great first party. Washer whiffs have been popular in the past for some customers (especially for those working in the shearing sheds), and once they got word there was someone in town selling Scentsy again, they made sure to stock up!

Feel free to get in touch about joining my team, whether you are in New Zealand or Australias this is the best way to share the Scentsy love far and wide.
